The method for the piano is in two parts and is an aid to learning for future pianists as well as for young teacher starting out in the field. Major importance is given here to the first lessons in piano playing, structured on the principles of the Russian School. Methodological and pedagogical advice is given, concerning the correct positioning of the hands of the beginner piano player and sug- gesting various exercises for developing and strengthening the fingers. Basic compositions by teacher-composers initiate the pupil into the world of music, contributing to their further mental development as well as the adaptability and independence of their interpretive framework. The method for the piano¢s second part comprises compositions belonging to the repertory of second and third year students of the piano.
