The Cretan Lute

The Cretan Lute or Laouto or Lagouto is a stringed traditional musical instrument. 
Its origin is in the ancient Greek 'Pandoura' but it is also related to the Oud 
In Crete it is one of the most famous musical instruments together with the Cretan Lyre.
In an orchestra he can work wonderfully with violin, mandolin, Cretan lyre and other musical
 instruments.
 It has 4 double strings, is played with a special plectrum also called "ftero" 
and its tuning is MI LA RE SOL as well as the violin and the mandolin. 
The Cretan Lute is crucial in the evolution of Cretan Music.
